GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Highly skilled technical work in a 300 MW combined cycle power generation facility including the maintenance and repair of power plant equipment. Installs, calibrates, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, tunes, and repairs complex electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electro-hydraulic equipment: recorders, generator load control equipment, distributive and programmable logic controls, pressure, flow, level, temperature, position and analysis controllers, indicators, transmitters, distributive and programmable logic controls, final control elements (including drives and valves) and continuous emissions monitoring equipment. Installs, tests, and repairs electrical/electronic apparatus such as AC/DC motors, circuits, transformers, alternators, generators, low, medium and high voltage switchgear (including air, oil, and gas powered circuit breakers, disconnects, and switches); alarm systems, solid-state and electro-mechanical control systems, heat recovery steam generators controls burner management systems, combustion turbine controls, steam turbine controls, generator and excitation controls, and balance of plant control systems. Reports to and is under the direct supervision of the Operations & Maintenance Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Education and Experience)
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Five (5) years experience in electronic process control, instrument calibration, maintaining and repairing electrical circuits, equipment and instruments including AC and DC motor control circuits, circuit breakers and related electronic apparatus. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. A valid State of Florida Driver's License is desired.
