SUBSTATION RELAY/SCADA TECHNICIAN

SALARY:

$24.96 - $30.15

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Highly skilled technical work in the operation and maintenance of high voltage substations and SCADA Computer System. Works under the general supervision of the Superintendent of Electric T&D but often has to work independently in complex situations and supervises a one or more person crew (when serving as person in charge).

 

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Education and Experience)

Graduation from an accredited high school with courses in math and science. Satisfactory completion of an approved training course in electronics and/or electricity from one of the following: military, trade school or college, with four years experience in substation maintenance, relay testing and SCADA Computer Systems. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. An appropriate valid State of Florida Operator’s License with the ability to obtain a Class “A” CDL within three (3) months of date of hire. CDL License needed sparingly for emergencies.

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:

Moderate carrying and lifting; walking; standing; kneeling, climbing; bending; balancing; smelling, stooping, driving. (Reasonable accommodations will be made for otherwise qualified individuals with a disability.)

 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Works outside with: chemicals; grease; high voltage electricity; ladders; heights; below
